AFC and CAF get four each, while MLS and Liga MX clubs battle for CONCACAF’s four spots. FIFA confirmed the US as host, likely using 2026 World Cup venues like SoFi Stadium and MetLife.
Corinthians’ upset still echoes
Few moments shook the tournament like Corinthians’ 2012 win over Chelsea. Paolo Guerrero’s header at Yokohama Stadium gave the Brazilian side their second title, proving money doesn’t always decide outcomes. Raja Casablanca (2013) and Kashima Antlers (2016) also reached finals, though both fell to European giants.
