Hyundai Deploys Robot Dogs and Vehicles for FIFA World Cup 2026 Security

As preparations intensify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Hyundai Motor Company has announced its most substantial mobility and robotics initiative to date for a global sporting event. The automaker is set to play a crucial role in supporting tournament operations across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, deploying over 1,500 vehicles alongside cutting-edge robotic technology.

A key highlight of this extensive support package is the introduction of four custom Spot robot dogs from Boston Dynamics, a company owned by Hyundai Motor Group. These sophisticated robots will be strategically placed at two prominent tournament locations: the International Broadcast Center in Dallas and at venues in the New York and New Jersey metropolitan area. Their primary functions will include patrolling, conducting real-time inspections, and monitoring areas expected to draw significant crowds, enhancing overall security and facility management.

This marks a significant milestone as it's the first time Spot robot dogs will be utilized at a FIFA World Cup, underscoring Hyundai's commitment as FIFA's Official Robotics Partner.
